U.S. sells 7-yr debt at lowest yield in 16 months NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The Treasury Department sold $29 billion in 7-year notes on Tuesday at a yield of 2.394%, the lowest for the securities since March 2009. Bidders offered to buy 2.78 times the amount of debt sold, compared to an average of 2.83 times at the past four auctions of 7-year notes.
